Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to introduce the concepts of measurement and evaluation in foreign language teaching and to develop the skills of using pre-service teachers' measurement and evaluation methods and tools.

Learning Outcomes
1Students will be able to define the basic concepts, principles and constructs of classroom based measurement and evaluation.
2Students will be able to define different types of tests and forms of testing and prepare different types of questions for large-scale language measurement purposes. develop and evaluate such tests and other available measurement methods.
3Students will be able to form language tests for different age groups, language levels and learning styles.
4Students will be able to analyze the techniques of reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar in a discrete and integrated manner; will be able to understand and define descriptive inferential statistics calculations and principles underlying exam design.
5Students will be able to define the stages of the test, interpretation of the item analysis and test scores, evaluation of the measured tests and the back effects of the language exams prepared by the teacher.

Types of exams and methods of measurement used for different age groups and language levels in language skills teaching; principles for measuring and evaluating language skills; types of questions used in reading, writing, listening, speaking, vocabulary and grammar levels; exam preparation techniques and evaluation criteria; preparation of various questions and exam evaluation studies.
