Objectives of the Course |
To prepare pre-service social studies teachers to assume teaching and citizenship responsibilities.
To be able to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and values related to human rights and democracy.
To be able to explain the concepts related to human rights and democracy and their historical development. Ability to interpret documents and practices related to human rights and democracy.

Definition and historical development of human rights and democracy;
Concepts of democracy, freedom and equality, different understandings of democracy, democratic culture, democracy at school and in the family, democratic citizenship;
Rights and freedoms, children's and women's rights, national and international regulations on human rights (Universal Declaration of Human Rights, European Convention on Human Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child, etc.);
