Objectives of the Course
To be able to analyze the reasons and results of the negativities in the periods of stagnation, decline and disintegration of the Ottoman Empire. To make students comprehend the importance of reforms made to save the state from collapse. To comprehend the Ottoman-Russian, Ottoman-Austrian, Ottoman-France relations and the reasons for this relationship.

Learning Outcomes
1will be able to interpret the stagnation period of the Ottoman state.
2Will be able to explain the collapse period of the Ottoman Empire and the political events of this period.
3Will be able to define the renewal efforts of the Ottoman Empire in the period of decline and collapse.
4Defines Tanzimat and Islahat edict. It can also explain the Constitutional Monarchy movements and its aftermath.

The period from the 1600s to the collapse of the Ottoman empire (1922); political developments in the Ottoman Empire during this time; state organization and local government units; cultural developments and important figures; Relations of the Ottoman Empire with other surrounding states and communities.
