Objectives of the Course
Makes inferences about the process of Turks' acceptance of Islam. Makes evaluations about the political history, culture and civilization of the first Turkish-Islamic States. Understands the interaction between Turkish culture and civilization and Islamic culture and civilization. It expresses the contributions of Turks to Islam and world civilization.

Course Contents
The birth of Islam and the period of the four caliphs; Arab-Islamic states; Islamic civilization (contributions of Arab-Turkish-Persian cultures to Islamic civilization); Science, art, education, thought, economy, city and aesthetics in Islamic civilization (science and thought centers such as Baytul Hikme, scientists and their works, examples of material civilization elements); Brief political history of Turkish-Islamic states; Culture and civilization in the first Turkish-Islamic states; Science, art, education, thought, economy, city and aesthetics in Turkish-Islamic civilization (pioneers of the world of science, language, literature and contemplation such as Yusuf Has Hacip, Kaşgarlı Mahmut and Ahmet Yesevi, thinkers and their works, examples of material civilization elements).
