Objectives of the Course
Stagnation and collapse periods of the Ottoman Empire in the last 300 years, there were a lot of initiative, effort, and developments to get rid of them. From XVIth century we can track these developments sometimes have not to be taken into consideration, sometimes they did not place, but sometimes also found support have not been successful. It has been arrived with that they were also succeed to 1918. Than it was born in the Republic of Turkey. The purpose of this course, in the process chain of events and people is to consider the causes and consequences.

4Queries the effects of political thought in the Ottoman history,

6Analyze the role of political power in innovation.

Course Contents
With the beginning of the decline of the Ottoman State, various measures began to be taken. Since the 17th century, attempts have been made for the state to recover itself. Starting from the 18th century, keeping up with modern Europe has been the main goal in these innovation efforts. Starting from the Tanzimat Period of the Ottoman State, the content of the course was first and second. Constitutional movements such as Ottomanism, Islamism, Turkism and Westernism constitute the reform movements that were tried to be held until the end of the First World War with the titles of the Constitutional Era.
