Objectives of the Course
To be able to convey the general political situation of Iran and Central Asia after the Ilkhanids. To give information about the contribution of Timurlular State to Turkish history and its activities, and to explain the effects of the Timurid Renaissance on the history of Turkish Culture.

1To be able to comprehend the situation of the Chagatai Khanate in the 14.th century.
2To be able to analyse of the Timur’s campaigns.
3To be able to explain developments of the post Timur.
4To be able to explain the mind of “sovereignty” in the Timurid state.
5To be able to compare military, social and economical structure of the Timurid state with other Turkic states.
6To be able define the relation of stat-religion in the Timurid state.

Course Contents
Considers the political situation of Anatolia, Azarbayjan, İran and Horosan after the disintegration of Ilkhanid state. This course will also examine the rise and fall of Timuruds state, its place in the world history, Timur’s campaignes, Timurids-Ottoman Relations, the battle of Ankara and aftermath.
