Appreciates the importance of measurement and evaluation in education; comprehends the characteristics of traditional and contemporary measurement and evaluation tools and methods used in teaching; designs measurement tools related to the field and gains knowledge and skills related to the application; applies the desired statistical procedures to the measurement results.

1Knows the definition of measurement and evaluation concepts used in teaching and the features that measurement tools should have.
2Explains the statistics used in measurement tool development and calculates the validity and reliability coefficients of measurement tools.
3Knows the measurement tools that should be used in the measurement process and develops the appropriate measurement tools.
4Expresses the learning outcomes with a grade by evaluating the results obtained from the measurement tool.

The basic concepts about measurement and evaluation; error of measurement; the features which have to be found in a measurement tool: reliability, validity and usefulness; measurement tools and methods used in education; test construction and item analysis; the statistical processes apply to test scores.
