Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to understand and define the philosophy of education within the framework of the basic concepts and fields of philosophy and to comprehend the effects of philosophical perspective on education with the ability to think critically. It also includes understanding the differences in content and methodology between philosophy, theology, science and art.

Definition of philosophy and the content of philosophy, philosophers of the first age, the fields of philosophy, epistemology, ontology, axiology, logic, the relationship between philosophy and education, the contributions of philosophy to education, the definition, content and purpose of philosophy of education, approaches related to philosophy of education: Idealism, Realism, Permanentism, Essentialism, J.Jack Rousseau and Naturalism Naturalist Education Movement, Dialectical materialism, Pragmatism and Progressivism, Reconstructionism and Globalization in Education, Existentialism and Education, Open School System, Philosophy-Science and Education, Comparison of Recent Education and Traditional Education Movements, Philosophies on which the Turkish education system is based.
