Objectives of the Course
To provide the student with basic information about the birth and characteristics of the language, to explain the historical development of Turkish, to comprehend the phonetic, morphological and syntax features of Turkey Turkish.

1Comprehends the features of language and the relationship between language-culture-thought.
2Can argue about the origin of language.
3Comprehends the historical development of the Turkish language and the writing systems used by the Turks.
4Explains the phonetic features of Turkish.
5Explains the morphological features of Turkish; can identify elements such as root, stem, constructive and inflectional affixes.
6Explain the types of words in Turkish and the similar and different aspects of these words.
7Comprehends the groups formed by words and can distinguish them in syntax.
8Comprehends the syntax features of Turkish and can divide the sentence into its elements.
9Determine the structure and meaning features of sentences in Turkish.

Definition of language, its features and language types, language-culture-thought relationship Origin of language, theories about the birth of languages and classification of languages The place of Turkish among the world languages, its historical development (periods) and the spread of dialects The history of writing and the writing systems (alphabets) used by the Turks Phonology: Classification of sounds, harmonies, sound events (vowels related to vowels, consonants sound events), stress, intonation, pause.
