Objectives of the Course |
To introduce both the basic social problems faced by societies, the social responsibility area as an important area of influence and duty of the state and the policies in this area. To discuss the development of social policy from a historical perspective. |

1 | Students will grasp the different ways in which social policy and poverty have been discussed throughout the history of the modern world. | 2 | Students will understand the continuity and changes in social policy discussions of historical transformations in state-society relations and the content of the concept of citizenship. | 3 | Students will see the continuity and change in the way poverty and social problems are discussed throughout the history of modern Turkey. | 4 | Students will see the transformation of Turkey's social welfare regime and the new social assistance programs aimed at combating poverty in Turkey in comparison with the new trends in approaching the issue of social policy in Europe. |

The main purpose of social policy, scope and target group of social policy, historical development of social policy in the world and in Turkey. National and international social policy instruments. Working conditions. The concept of poverty and the main causes of poverty. Basic approaches and policies in the fight against poverty. Social policies for disadvantaged groups. |
