Objectives of the Course
Concepts related to Ataturk's Principles and History of Revolution course and the purpose of the course, the last period of the Ottoman Empire and World War I, the preparation and military phases of the War of Independence are explained to students.

Learning Outcomes
1Can define the concept of revolution and related concepts. Can explain the factors that were effective in the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. Can explain the reform movements and wars that took place in the last period of the Ottoman Empire.
2Can interpret World War I with its causes and consequences.
3Can explain the developments in the preparation and military phase of the War of Independence.
4Can explain the Revolutionary movements in the fields of Politics, Law, Education and Culture, Social and Economy after the Treaty of Lausanne.
5Can define the basic principles of the Turkish Revolution movement (Republicanism, Nationalism, Populism, Secularism, Statism, Revolutionism) and complementary principles.
6Can explain Atatürk period and after Ataturk Turkey's domestic and foreign policies, can understand Turkey's situation in World War II.
7Can interpret the transition to Multi-Party life, recent events and the problems faced by today's world.

Course Contents
Revolution and similar concepts and Atatürk's understanding of revolution, reform movements in the Ottoman Empire, Tripoli War, Balkan Wars and World War I, Armistice of Mudros and occupations. Preparatory phase of the War of Independence: Mustafa Kemal's arrival in Samsun, congresses and organization, National Pact and the opening of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. Treaty of Lausanne, Revolutionary movements in the fields of Politics, Legal, Education and Culture, Social Life and Economy, Transportation, Turkish Foreign Policy during the Ataturk Era, Ataturk's Principles. Türkiye after Atatürk: İsmet İnönü period, II. World War II, Democratic Party period, Turkey between the 1960 Coup and the 1980 Coup, developments from the 1980 Coup to the present.
