Objectives of the Course
To know the subjects of labor law within the framework of our legislation by considering the emergence of the concept of labor law in the global sense from a historical point of view, to learn the scope and basic concepts of labor law, to obtain theoretical and practical information about the disputes and solutions that may arise in working life by determining the rights and obligations of workers and employers within the scope of individual and collective labor law.

Learning Outcomes
1To be able to understand the process of the emergence of labor law from a historical point of view and to have the ability to determine the importance of labor law in the Turkish legal system and the relationship between labor and employer.
2To have the ability to determine the employee and employer and other labor law subjects within the scope of labor legislation, to have the ability to determine the rights and obligations of the employee and employer within the framework of the labor relationship.
3To have the ability to determine the working and rest periods, which have an important place in the employment relationship, and to evaluate them in terms of the employee and the employer.
4To have the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge about the process of termination of the employment contract, to have the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge about the temporary termination and immediate termination for just cause
5To provide competence in issues related to collective labor law, and to have the ability to identify and resolve individual and collective labor disputes.

Course Contents
Historically, the birth of labor law and its effects on our country, employees and employers, and other basic concepts within the framework of our labor law legislation, the scope of the Labor Law, the rights and obligations of the employee and the employer, the employee-employer relationship within the framework of individual and collective labor law, labor disputes, occupational health and safety legislation and the occupational health and safety obligations of the employee and employer will be examined.

1The content of the course includes the concept of labor law, its birth, development, and the official and private resources of Labor Law.
2Basic concepts of Labor Law, definition and characteristics of the employee, employer, sub-employer, employer's representative, and workplace.
3Individual Labor Law, the scope of Labor Law, the scope of the Labor Law, the area of application in terms of person, type of work, place, and time.
4Description, elements, characteristics, and types of the Employment Contract.
5Conclusion of the employment contract, the capacity to make a contract, freedom, and exceptions, and the invalidity of the employment contract.
6Debts arise from the employment contract; the debt to work, the debt of loyalty, the debt not to compete, the debt to pay wages, the debt to take care of the worker, the debt to treat equally.
7Termination of the employment contract without termination, termination of the contract with notice of termination for some time.
8MID-TERM EXAM
9Legal consequences of termination of employment contract, severance, death pay, proof of employment, release, and prohibition of competition.
10Immediate termination of the employment contract for just cause, immediate termination of the employee for just cause, and immediate termination of the employer for just cause.
11Working hours, overtime, night work, preparation, completion and night work, compensatory work, short work.
12Rest periods, weekly holidays, national and public holidays, annual paid leave, excused, and maternity leave.
13Trade Union Law, establishment and functioning of trade unions, activities, income and expenses, supervision, membership, and trade union guarantees.
