Objectives of the Course
It is aimed to analyze the relationship and interaction of cities with politics, the problems and consequences of urbanization, and the environmental effects of urbanization on a legal, economic and socio-political basis.

Course Contents
The history of cities, urbanization theories, local governments, local government policies, urban planning and problems, urban law, housing and slums, environmental policies, environmental ideologies and social movements, global environmental problems, urbanization in Turkey and its problems are the prominent fields of study in this field. In the course, it is aimed that students will be able to examine the relationship between the city, the environment and politics in a multidimensional way and thus analyze the dynamic relationship between social, economic and environmental factors on a local, national and global scale.
