General Description

History | Department of Business Administration started education under the name of “Business Department” in 2006-2007 Academic Year within the body of Bayburt Vocational School of Higher Education founded in 12th of December, 1990 by the decision of the Ataturk University Senate. It has continuied education within the body of Bayburt University since 2009-2010 academic year after it was founded in 2008.
| Qualification Awarded | After successfully completing all the conditions and necessities for graduation, students graduate with an associate’s degree in “business management” field.
| Level of Qualification (Short Cycle , First Cycle , Second Cycle, Third Cycle) | Short Cycle | Specific Admission Requirements | Students are admitted through an exam based on higher education institutions exam (YKS). The exam is held once a year by Student Selection and Placement Centre (OSYM).Applicants can attend HigherEducation with a score formed by the combination of the score they get from YKS and their secondary education composite score.
| Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal) |
Students enrolled in our program, even if they have graduated from any higher education program or have studied in any higher education program for a certain period of time but have not graduated, can request exemption from the courses they have passed in this process. In this context, they must submit their transcripts and course contents as an attachment to a petition and submit them to the relevant unit student affairs within the registered semester. | Qualification Requirements and Regulations |
Within the scope of secondary education qualifications and success criteria, students who successfully complete vocational school programs that include a two-year education-training program and adopt the principle of training qualified/qualified and equipped manpower and complete the required credit load are entitled to receive an Associate Degree Diploma. Students graduating from the program are expected to: Understand and interpret a problem in the field of business, be competent and partially expert in working in a certain field of a business, be aware of their own competencies and know the solutions to solve the problem.
| Profile of The Programme | Our program consists of compulsory, elective, vocational and common courses. Purpose of the programme is to train intermediate staff for business field. During their training period students gain knowledge and skills in business and administration. Students completing the programme acquire an associate’s degree.Main purpose of the department is to create students’ pedagogical, psychological and communicational skills and train specialists in related fields. Knowledge, ability and behaviour acquired during education form the fundamental skills to exercise in business.
| Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples | Students who successfully graduate from the Business Management program, in line with the competencies they have gained; They are employed in the Business and Management departments of public institutions and private companies.
| Access to Further Studies | After associate degree education, it is possible for students to continue their studies in the undergraduate departments of relevant universities with the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS). Undergraduate departments that can be continued with DGS: Banking, Banking and Insurance, Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Business Information Management, Business Informatics, Business Teaching, Business-Economy, Logistics Management, Health Institutions Management, Capital Market, Insurance, Insurance and Risk Management, International Finance, International Business, International Trade, International Trade and Finance, International Trade and Business, Management Information Systems.
| Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading |
In calculating the student's success grade, exams are evaluated as written, oral, homework, project or laboratory work depending on the nature of the course. In the evaluation of exams; The contribution of one midterm exam per course to the success grade is 40 percent and/or the contribution of other studies that replace the midterm exam is 40 percent, and the contribution of the grade obtained from the final exam (final exam) to the success grade is 60 percent. Research projects related to the field in which students are studying are carried out under the supervision of faculty members for their own development. They must submit their make-up exam documents, along with a petition, to the unit by the end of the five business days following the end of the exams. | Graduation Requirements | Graduation requirements from the Department of Business Management are based on the following conditions: It is mandatory to take all the courses required for graduation within the periods specified in the relevant regulation, to complete the current program with a GPA of at least 2.00, provided that the courses taken are successful, and to do an internship for 30 working days. The student graduates from the program by completing 120 ECTS credits. The student who successfully graduates from the program is awarded an associate degree in the 'Business Management' program. If students graduate successfully, the courses and relevant modules related to the competencies they gained during the education period are shown in the diploma supplement. They can benefit from Computer Laboratories in these studies. They completed their internships, which is a requirement for graduation, from T.R. They can also do this within the scope of the National Internship Program carried out under the Coordination of the Presidential Human Resources Office. who graduate from the Business Management program can be employed in managerial positions in financial consultancy offices, relevant departments of foreign trade and finance institutions, accounting services of commercial enterprises, and various departments of private enterprises.
